Sean Anthony
Sean Anthony, a native of District of Columbia, Maryland, is a seasoned musician whose passion for music has been a driving force throughout his life. Graduating from Crossland High School, he further honed his musical skills at the Washington School of Conservatory, studying under the guidance of acclaimed teachers like Howard Kadision.
Not confined to just one aspect of the arts, Sean Anthony also delved into drumming, training at the prestigious Place School for Dance in Washington D.C., which is a school for dancers, with instructors Carla Perlo and Debra Riley. Additionally, his percussion education under the tutelage of the renowned Sam Turner, who contributed 17 years to Lionel Hampton's ensemble, added depth to his musical repertoire.
Since 1998, Sean Anthony has been an integral part of various church communities, serving under the leadership of notable figures such as Donald Vales, Bryon Cage, Patrick Lundy, Keith William, and Ernest Pugh, and so many others. His diverse musical journey has afforded him the opportunity to collaborate with gospel heavyweights like Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, BeBe and CeCe Winans, and Donnie McClurkin, all while performing at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church. Under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Kevin Matthews, Sean is currently a percussionist at The Shepard House International Christian Church in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Sean Anthony has expanded his musical horizons by collaborating with artists such as Raheem Devaughn(R&B singer) Victor provost (steel drum), Antonio Parker (saxophone artist), The Keith Killgo Group (jazz ensemble), the Orisha Ashe timba band, and the Just Vibe Ensemble (Latin jazz). He continues to explore and contribute to the rich tapestry of musical expression. Sean is owner of SPA PRODUCTIONS, music entertainment and production, a member of ASCAP, and endorsed by Toca Drums.
A standout moment in Sean Anthony's career was his performance with SynchroniCity, a classical music performing group at the Kennedy Center, Rumba Club and Latin Jazz, Teach Me How to Love You conferences in (Charlotte), and the Evangel Cathedral Church, Currently serving as the lead percussionist for the iconic and legendary music band The Blackbyrds, under the leadership of Keith Kilgo, Sean Anthony is an integral part of their signature blend of funk, R&B, and jazz fusion. His journey in music is a testament to his dedication, versatility, and ongoing pursuit of artistic excellence.
