Michael Lagomarsini
Christian Alicea
Michael Lagomarsini Torres was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, in September 1993 and grew up surrounded by music. Inspired by his father, a talented percussionist, Michael developed a passion for rhythm at an early age. That love for music took shape in the marching band of his middle school in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, where his journey as a performer truly began.
Driven by dedication and a clear vision for his future, Michael moved to San Juan to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Drums and Percussion Performance at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. He further enriched his musical education with additional studies at the Puerto Rico Music Conservatory, building a strong foundation that would allow him to shine across genres and stages around the world.
A versatile and dynamic musician, Michael has mastered styles including Jazz, Fusion, Pop, Rock, Reggaetón, Merengue, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. His artistry has led him to collaborate with some of the most iconic names in Latin music.
In salsa, he has performed with Lalo Rodríguez, Charlie Aponte, Herman Olivera, Andy Montañez, José Alberto “El Canario,” Tito Nieves, Víctor Manuelle, Juan José, Frankie Ruiz Jr., Tito Puente Jr., and Christian Alicea.
In merengue, his beats have powered performances by Elvis Crespo, Zona D’ Tambora, Olga Tañón, Grupo Manía, and Melina León.
His reggaetón collaborations include Zion y Lennox, Tito “El Bambino,” Jay Wheeler, Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, J Álvarez, and Jowell & Randy.
Michael has also worked alongside top producers such as Ramón Sánchez, Gonzalo López, Gino Picard, Eliot “El Mago de Oz,” DJ Buddah, and Giovanni Crespo, leaving his rhythmic mark both on stage and in the studio.
Today, Michael proudly serves as music director, drummer, and percussionist for urban salsa artist Christian Alicea, bringing energy, precision, and passion to every performance. He is endorsed by Paiste Cymbals, Clear Tune Monitors, and Uli Percussion.
Beyond performing, Michael is devoted to education. As a private instructor, he shares his knowledge and love for percussion with students of all ages, inspiring the next generation of musicians to dream big, work hard, and play from the heart.
