Jose Ramon Guerra
Born in Panama, Panama City in February 1980, Jose began his musical career in 1995 at the age of 15, still at school, with his brother'ís musical group in Bars, Clubs and Music Festivals.
Since 2004 he played in the Big Band of the University of Panama directed by the Great American trumpeter, Master Victor "Vitin" Paz, participating in Festivals of Jazz organized by Danilo Perez for more than 12 years.
Jose is Percussion Teacher and School Band Instructor as well as a percussionist and chorus musician, with more than 25 years of experience. He has been involved with the Orquesta Sociedad Anónima for more than 15 years, with which he has had the opportunity to accompany international musicians such as Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz, Larry Harlow, Danny Rivera, Ismael Miranda, Jose Alberto el Canario, La India, Maelo Ruiz, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Rey Ruiz, Jerry Rivera and many more.
He is currently a Percussionist Musician (Conguero) and Chorus of the Roberto Delgado Orchestra which accompanies Master Ruben Blades.
He was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2019 for the album "Paraiso Road Gang" with the Maestro Rubén Blades.
Jose also has won 4 Grammys with Maestro Ruben Blades and the Roberto Delgado Orchestra with the albums "SON DE PANAMÁ" and "SALSWING", as "Best Salsa Album, Best Latin Music Disc and Best Album of the Year".
