Casi Joy (The Voice)
Go-Go Ray brings 40 years of professional drumming to the stage and studio and 29 years of private drum lessons to KC Drum Shop. He is also the Promotional Director and Dean of Students at KC Drum Shop. His students know him as the Drum Counselor.
He studied drums at age 9 through age 23. His first pro performance took place at age 17.
He’s currently performing with Casi Joy (The Voice) and recording with Whiskey Hill.
He has worked with Anthony Gomes, Billy Goat, Cameo, Curtis Salgado, George Lynch, Heather Newman, Jim Stapley, Laurence Jones, Nalani Clisset, Mike Dillon’s Go-Go Jungle, Paul Gilbert, Paul Nelson, Regi Wooten, Samantha Fish, Sister Hazel, Tori Amos, and Tyson Leslie.
He’s an Endorsed Artist for Aquarian Drumheads, Big Fat Snare Drum, Cympad, Humes & Berg Drum Cases, Orthopedic Drum Thrones, Paiste Cymbals, Promark Drumsticks, Toca Percussion, WFL III Drums and 64 Audio.
He taught at Explorers Percussion (Kansas City, MO) for 12 years.
He won the Guitar Center Drum Off in Arlington, TX (24-Oct-1992)
He won the first ever Roland V-Drums USA Competition at Sam Ash Music in Las Vegas, NV (04-Nov-2010).
