Daniel Jimenez
Daniel Antonio Jimenez Bloisewas born on June 15, 1993. At the age of 8, he learned to play Latin percussion through his mentor and father, Dulio Jiménez. At the age of 12, he studied formally with teachers Daniel "Gato" Ortega and Cristian Lasso in Panama City.
He has shared the stage with most national orchestras and accompanied international artists in the Salsa and Latin Scene such as Wichy Camacho, Ricky Luis (N'íklave), Frankie Vasquez, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Charlie Cardona, Luigi Texidor and others.
In 2014, he won 1st place in the "El Rey del Timbal" contest held in Panama.
In 2015, he won 1st place at the "La Fiesta del Tambor" in Cuba, a music festival started by the Cuban Drummer Giraldo Piloto, in the Drums category.
From 2015 to 2019 he directed his first musical project along with other colleagues and musical friends called MecaniK InformaL. That group combined Salsa, Cuban Timba and the Urban sounds of Panamanian reggae music.
With that band he was able to showcase his music in festivals and venues in NY (Afrolatino Fest 2016), New Jersey (Martin Cohen'ís Congahead), Boston (Betances Festival 2016, Berklee Caf Show) and the UK (Glastonbury 2017).
Since October 2021 he has been the drummer of the Roberto Delgado Orchestra, the current band that accompanies and records the music of one of the most famous Panamanian singers, Rubén Blades.He also records and produce his own projects that will soon come out ranging from jazz to latin to urban music.
